Molly's 4th of July

It was an exciting day for Molly!  First: she joined me opening the shop early for the 4th of July Fireman's Breakfast crowd. Here's Glenda's granddaughters smothering her with cuddles and love!

Then, she joined me in watching the fabulous parade go by.
Then, off we went for her first campout at Butano State Park in Pescadero.
We spent the day at the beach. Here she is taking a rest.
She wasn't too sure about this salty water coming and going....
And she LOVED digging in the sand.... paws and nose!

She's growing and growing!

See how she fills up my bed now! Totally house trained... safe to say after two weeks, no accidents.

First it's time to socialize......

Learning to "Relax"

Then comes the serious stuff.... "Bubba" our instructor demonstrates with Molly
That's better. Good Molly! (Praise is important!)

Home at last, but too pooped out! Had to be carried to bed!

11 Weeks Old today - Weigh In

Drum roll please....... Molly weighed in at 32 pounds! A 12 pound gain in three weeks, 4 pounds a week!
Her new favorite hiding place is deep under our house, or under one of our decks. She fits now... don't know about the future!

Here she is with her first bone....

Getting Impatient....

We're so looking forward to taking Molly on walks, to the beach, and to friends. But her vet says don't let her feet touch the ground where Parvo germs might be lurking. Parvo is carried by adult dogs, they don't get it, but puppies do. Tomorrow is her second set of shots and weigh in. Brother, has she grown! We can hardly pick her up.

Here she is last Saturday when we took her to meet Cousins Jan, Gina and Norm. That's Cousin Jan holding her, sorry her head's cut off. But Molly is sure cute! And boy, she's getting too heavy to carry!
PS.... Shhhh, don't tell anyone (don't want to jinx our luck) she hasn't piddled in the house for over a week! She has free roam to wander inside and out. Feeling lucky!

F I N A L L Y ! ! !

It's been a long 10 days, waiting for Lulu (our Bassett Hound) to make friends with Molly! Being cabin bound, due to the rain, really helped! They are beyond CUTE!

Of course, I still have to keep my shoes up off the floor!

NINE Weeks.... Morning snuggle

Wow... today is our first week anniversary since Molly has come home to live with us! She is a morning pooch! I think she's gained a pound or two, she certainly looks older and bigger than a week ago.

I'm loving that she loves her crate/kennel. She's happy to go in for nap times (so I don't have to watch her). Yesterday, after a three hour nap, she just sat on my lap and cuddled, just like a toddler. Her face had a sleepy, dreamy look, and she kept nuzzling as close as she could get. What a fabulous experience.

And, at the same time, she's quite full of PUPPY energy! She has about three puppy-fits a day.... where she dashes around, chews on absolutely anything, barks at us, nips at almost everything, and then dashes around some more! Poor Lulu, our Basset hound, still wont have anything to do with her. Lulu will come around eventually.

This morning was great.... she's been waking up around 5ish, and I've been taking her outside, then back to bed with me. This morning though, I decided to not pay attention to the 5am wakeup-whine, and she went back to sleep until 6:15. Much better.

So, we've developed a routine. I take her out right away so she can piddle, then bring her back to my bed to play. Eventually, I'd like her to cuddle in the morning while I write. (Like I am now, after she's worn herself out.)

And this is what I'm loving.... after-play, sleepy, snuggle.

Day SIX - Peaceful Playtime

Well, she's still waking at 6 a.m., but that's okay since I'm a morning person anyway. After she tires herself out, she'll nap at my side and I'll be able to write.

Yesterday was AMAZING!! Bill and I had to work in our shop (Boulder Creek Antiques)

so Molly went with us. She spent the entire day content in her crate. Napped right through all the customers ooooing and ahhhing all over her. What an awesome pup!

And, I sold some of my art! Two of my cupcake paintings, like this:

Day FIVE - Morning with Molly

Molly was sitting up, quietly, waiting for me this morning, after sleeping until 6 am, better than the last few days, waking at 5.  She didn't utter a peep or whine... just sat there waiting to join me in welcoming the morning.

I let her outside for a few minutes while I brushed my teeth and started the coffee... but she was right at the door whining to get in, wanting to be with me.  Up on my bed, like every morning so far. She wrestled and chewed on her play things for about an hour while I sipped my coffee and enjoyed watching her. Once in a while she'd attack my hand, or go towards my face, so I quickly gave her a little whap on the nose and pushed her down saying "nooo", then returned to rewarding her softer play. Every time she'd start to mouth me, I give her one of her chew toys.

My goal is to have a morning companion as I write in my journal. Now that she's napping once again, I think she's getting my vision!

I just love her sweet energy!

Here are the latest pictures.....

A new friend Jake, (who's willing to get down on the floor with her!) played with her Friday evening...

Sooo cute, playing with her new toys....
Tied her toy to a rope, gave her some interactive fun.
6 a.m. on my bed, looking out towards my Zen garden, chewing on her toys. She wakes up so FULL of energy!!

 Melts my heart!
Ahh... this is what I want in the mornings, snuggle buddies!

Meet Miss Molly

This is day three, since we brought her home. Enjoy her pictures.... I'll be posting more as we journey on our adventures together. The very last picture is of my precious Daisy... Molly's spiritual grandmother who travels with the angles now.

God Bless you Sweet Daisy, as you watch over Molly & Me.
Thank you for all your love.
